Title: Cannot complete verification — Jio (India) blocks SMS to short code 96831, no alternative method available
Hello,
I have been stuck in the “Further action is required to use Antigravity” verification loop for 3 days and cannot find any way to resolve it.
Root cause I’ve identified:
I am in India using a Jio SIM. Jio blocks outbound SMS to international short codes, including 96831 (Google’s verification number). Every SMS attempt shows “Not Delivered” on my iPhone.
What I have already tried:
- Completed the QR code scan flow multiple times — it routes to SMS which fails every time
- Searched for “Try another way” on the verification screen — no such option exists
- Removed and re-added phone number in Google account settings
- Enabled Google Authenticator as a 2FA method
- Generated and have all 10 backup codes — but there is no place to enter them in the Antigravity verification flow
- Switched Wi-Fi calling on/off
- Cleared all local app data via Terminal (Library/Application Support, Caches, Preferences, Saved State)
- Uninstalled and reinstalled Antigravity
- Submitted feedback via “Having trouble? Let us know” yesterday — no response
System: macOS, M1 Apple Silicon
Account: Paid subscription, verified on web
The verification flow has no fallback for users whose carriers block short code SMS. Backup codes are downloaded but there is no input field for them anywhere in the app’s auth flow.
Could a team member please either:
- Manually clear the verification flag on my account, or
- Confirm if there is any backend workaround for this carrier-specific SMS block
This is blocking me from using a service . Any help appreciated.
