[Bug] Paid Tier Active but receiving "Quota Exceeded" errors (Free Tier works)

Hi google team,

​I recently set up a billing account for my Google AI Studio project to use the Pay-as-you-go tier, but I am entirely blocked from using it due to quota errors.

​The Issue:

Whenever I attempt to run prompts using the paid tier (such as Gemini 3.1 Pro Preview on “Max mode”), I immediately receive a “Quota limits exceeded” or “Quota exceeded. Please try again later.” error.

​However, if I switch back to the Free tier, it works perfectly fine. It appears my project is stuck on the free-tier backend routing despite having an active billing account linked.

​Account Details:

​Time since billing was enabled: Over 6 hours ago

​Troubleshooting Already Attempted:

​Verified billing is active and linked to the correct project (AI Studio recognizes it enough to show “Max mode”).

​Tested in an Incognito/Private browsing window to bypass cache.

​Toggled between free and paid models multiple times.

​Added/refreshed API keys and secrets.

​Waited 6+ hours to allow for any backend propagation delays.

​Could an engineer please look into my Project ID and manually sync my paid status?

same problem, on half of my quota for 3.1 pro, but getting quota exceeded. Tried to switch to 3 pro with no usage, and still getting error

I am having this same problem and it’s brought my project to a halt. Can no longer use assistant due to quota exceeded even though I an on a paid API plan.
