I am a Google AI Pro subscriber (2 TB, $19.99/month) experiencing a confirmed backend quota provisioning bug that has made my subscription effectively non-functional for 3 weeks. I am posting here after exhausting the standard support loop with no resolution.
ISSUE SUMMARY
Instead of the advertised 5-hour quota refresh cycle for Pro subscribers, Gemini Pro and Claude are locked into 7-day reset cycles. Only Gemini Flash maintains the correct 5-hour reset behavior. This means the primary models I pay for are unavailable for the vast majority of each week.
TIMELINE
- February 1: Issue first reported to Google One support
- February 9: Specialist Helen confirmed escalation to higher team, promised immediate email updates
- February 13: No update received, opened new chat (Case 5-1732000040733), confirmed case still under investigation
- February 15: Email from specialist Peter: “still checking your case, this may take longer than expected”
- February 21: Follow-up email to Peter with additional detail, received generic acknowledgment
3 weeks. No resolution. No ETA. No workaround provided.
ACCOUNT VERIFICATION
- Plan confirmed in Google One settings: Google AI Pro (2 TB) at $19.99/month

- Troubleshooting already completed: signed out and back in, cleared cached auth data, verified subscription is active
WORSENING CONDITION
Since the Gemini 3.1 rollout, the situation has worsened. Gemini 3.1 consumes weekly quota significantly faster than Gemini 3, meaning that even after the weekly reset, usable time before lockout has decreased further.
THIS IS A SYSTEMIC ISSUE
I am aware this is not isolated to my account. I can see reports from other Pro subscribers dating back to January 21, 2026 describing identical symptoms: 4-day, 6-day, 7-day, and 10-day lockouts instead of 5-hour resets. The issue appears to have originated or worsened with the 1.15.6 update.
