Will Antigravity get Opus 4.8?

Opus 4.8 just dropped today from Anthropic and it looks like a massive jump for agentic coding and long-running autonomous tasks.

I’m genuinely frustrated because Antigravity already had Opus 4.6, then completely bypassed 4.7… and now I’m worried we’re going to skip 4.8 as well.

I really think that if we’re not going to have Opus 4.8 in Antigravity, there is absolutely no reason to keep the Ultra subscription. Gemini is still so far behind in coding and agentic capabilities. I truly believe the Ultra plan will be a complete waste of time for everyone who purchased it mainly for Antigravity and serious coding work.

Has anyone from the team seen this? Any timeline or plan to bring Opus 4.8 into Antigravity?

claudes gone altogether now..

opus 4.6 is the best and their ppl like you crying bcs u want smth that is lower quality claude 4.7 4.8 are the most terrible thing i ever seen censorship and more its so terrible they need to close their company or lock in

I just noticed all the anthropic models have gone from my account (AI Ultra Plan)

Is this permanent decision by Google to remove anthropic completely?

They removed Claude models entirely :joy:

still listed here: Google Antigravity

@hygtueh yes but i think if ppl see removed thing it gonna be removed soon

Is this Permanent ? I was just about to use Opus. Anyone know why ?

nobody gonna like Omg a massive censorship update only thing they doing is censuring with filter bcs you doing useless project its not the same problem for everyone pls reconsider ur message

Wow.

I literally just asked for Opus 4.8… and Google’s brilliant response was to delete every single Anthropic model from Antigravity.

That’s not even funny anymore. If this isn’t a bug, then it’s genuinely one of the most insane decisions I’ve ever seen from them.

We all know how Google loves their little hidden nerfs and silent “improvements” that somehow make everything worse. But this?

At this point Antigravity is completely worthless. I paid for Ultra specifically for the agentic coding experience and now they took away the only models that were actually good at it.

I’m 100% unsubscribing if this stays. This is actually insane.

Hi @souissi_oussama, @Shmrad @Muhammad_Ahmed

This was an intermittent issue. If you are still unable to access the Claude models, please clear your browser cache, log out of your account and restart Antigravity, this should resolve the issue.

Google is playing the numbers game. They realize that many of the products from these other AI suppliers are superior to their own. So why make these people any more money. We will just cut them out and the consumers can either deal with it or not. . I’ve been having trouble with Google for close to the last year. Their push on getting Gemini in the middle of everything was a misbegotten decision in the first place and not defensible at the architectural level. Everything went to hell in the handbasket when deadline started driving everything instead of quality product for the consumer. And they have just reinforced my opinion repeatedly over the last 6 months. Periodically I’ll go back to the platforms and see if anything’s performing any better but all I find is that they got rid of some of the problems they had and introduced a whole bunch of new ones. They’re managing the whole thing like flow of consciousness coding. I don’t understand how anybody retains any loyalty to Google.

I also have the Ultra plan and the model I use the most is Opus 4.6. It would be interesting if they enabled 4.8 to give us the chance to evaluate for ourselves whether 4.8 is really as bad as the comments below say, or if, on the contrary, it’s as good as the YouTube videos say.

I’m seriously thinking about switching from the Antigravity 2.0 Ultra license to Claude with the Max plan to see how things go. Anyway, I almost always use Opus and I never use up my entire 5-hour quota.

It’s funny that I had no idea Opus 4.8 was out until I saw it in my JetBrains CLI harness. That thing even runs a whole JVM! But they’re nimble enough to add a model on launch day.

And Google is still not past 4.6?

Actually they aren’t gone.

Check before you complain.

Your complaint about the opus 4.6 and later versions not being added is completely ridiculous; you users must be stupid. Versions 4.7 and 4.8 have a completely new tokenizer. If these two new models are to be added, they would need to write a completely new quota and token system from scratch for the Claude models.

bahahahha this is not true at all

Well, it’s been over a week and Google’s “genius response” to everyone asking for Opus 4.8 was to shadow nerf Claude even harder.
Now even Ultra users are getting resets after only 5 days, and they straight up removed the 25k AI credits.
This is actually insane.
Make a model that’s actually as good as Claude or Codex at coding first, then do whatever the hell you want with the Claude models. Until then, stop pretending you’re competing while quietly destroying the only good option people had in Antigravity.
I canceled my Ultra subscription today. I’m done with this shit.
Google, you didn’t just lose a customer, you lost someone who was genuinely rooting for Antigravity to actually be good!!!
