Unable to download extensions

I had platformio, c++ helpers and other stuff. In new IDE it is empty.

Same issue - when you look into the logs you’ll likely see 429 errors - those seem to be coming from the “Open VSX” marketplace which is now the default for Antigravity IDE extensions. After many retries I could install a few extensions. On the main page of open-vsx they currently have a banner up that says “Open VSX is growing! To support reliable access as usage increases, we’ve implemented rate limiting tiers that govern usage.”.

The homepage keeps loading and isn’t displaying any icons, so I think it’s overloaded – or at least that’s the impression I get.

Steps:

  1. In the Marketplace Item URL field, enter:

    marketplace.visualstudio

  2. In the Marketplace Gallery URL field, enter:

    marketplace.visualstudio
Restart the IDE — the changes will not take effect without a restart.

  3. After restarting, you will be able to install extensions directly from the Visual Studio Marketplace.

I clicked solution, but no, it doesn’t work for me after restarting IDE.

Do you want to restore your old extensions, or are you having trouble finding new ones? Try restarting the IDE and typing something into the search bar.

If you want to restore your old extensions, try the following:

  1. Press Windows Key + R, type %userprofile%, and press Enter (this opens your main user directory, e.g., C:\Users\YourName).

  2. Look for a folder named .antigravity (note the dot at the beginning).

  3. Open it and copy everything inside (usually a folder named extensions).

  4. Go back to your user directory, open the new .antigravity-ide folder, and paste the contents there.

Tip: Make sure to close the Antigravity IDE completely before copying these files so the new settings load correctly when you reopen it.

I’m doing this – actually, I could have done it earlier, as this solution has already been mentioned in another thread – but the question is: why was this done? This method of updating is a relic from the days of Windows 95, where you could simply install one version over another, and that’s exactly what’s happened here. And what’s more, if it were free, that would be one thing, but 99% of Antigravity users have a subscription and pay them money, and yet they do something like this.

The following URLs worked for me (don’t forget to restart Antigravity):

Marketplace Item URL: marketplace .visualstudio.com/items
Marketplace Gallery URL: marketplace .visualstudio.com/_apis/public/gallery](marketplace .visualstudio.com/_apis/public/gallery)

There is also an Antigravity folder in Roaming, the contents of which should also be copied to the IDE folder.

Neither the Microsoft ones nor the OpenVSX ones are working. Thanks to @Ivan31 tip, I managed to restore the installed plugins, but the uninstalled items in the extensions still aren’t updating.

I’ll go one step further. If I mess up the links and just pick something at random, nothing appears in the ‘Recommended’ section, but if I clear the entries—so they’re back to default—two or three random tracks appear in the ‘Recommended’ section. However, you can’t search for anything because it doesn’t find a thing.
