I recently tried the new Agentic update and ran into quite a few issues — mainly around stability, persistent model bugs, and the way it kept creating separate projects for each chat. For my workflow, it ended up feeling pretty unreliable, so I decided to uninstall it.
After uninstalling, I noticed something confusing:
-
An older IDE version (1.23.2) is still present on my system
-
At the same time, I found a separate “Antigravity IDE” installer on the website, which I’ve now started reinstalling
This made me wonder whether there are actually multiple versions/channels co-existing (Agentic vs standard IDE), rather than one clean upgrade path replacing the other.
Before I continue, I wanted to check with others who’ve experimented with both setups:
-
Has anyone else noticed multiple versions existing side-by-side like this (Agentic + older IDE + separate installer)?
-
If I reinstall the IDE version, will I lose my previous chats or the context/history that the Agentic setup had built?
-
Is reinstalling the IDE the correct move here, or would it be better to completely remove the older 1.23.2 version first and start clean?
-
For people who switched back from Agentic → IDE, did stability improve? Did you feel you had better control over projects/workflows?
Would really appreciate hearing other people’s experiences before I make things even messier on my machine.
Update Lost all my data but good news is got the latest version of Anti gravity in the IDE

How to Restore Your Antigravity Chats and Projects
You can restore all your previous chats and projects by copying all files from the Antigravity folder into the Antigravity IDE folder. Follow these steps:
-
Press Windows Key + R on your keyboard to open the Run dialog box.
-
Type %appdata% into the box and press Enter (this will open your AppData\Roaming folder).
-
Open the Antigravity folder and copy all of its contents.
-
Go back to the AppData folder, open the Antigravity IDE folder, and paste the copied files there.
Note: If asked, choose to overwrite/replace the files in the destination folder.
How to Restore Your Missing Settings, Keymaps, and Extensions
If you restored the IDE using the chat/project trick above, it might look like all your themes, keymaps, and extensions were wiped.
Here is why: Antigravity is built on VS Code, meaning it generates configuration folders based on the specific product name.
To fix this and get your environment fully back to normal, follow these steps:
1. Restore Your Settings and Keymaps
-
Press Windows Key + R, type %appdata%, and press Enter.
-
Open the Antigravity folder and copy the User folder found inside.
-
Go back to AppData, open the Antigravity IDE folder, and paste the User folder here (overwrite if prompted).
2. Restore Your Extensions
-
Press Windows Key + R, type %userprofile%, and press Enter (this opens your main user directory, e.g., C:\Users\YourName).
-
Look for a folder named .antigravity (note the dot at the beginning).
-
Open it and copy everything inside (usually a folder named extensions).
-
Go back to your user directory, open the new .antigravity-ide folder, and paste the contents there.
Tip: Make sure to close the Antigravity IDE completely before copying these files so the new settings load correctly when you reopen it.
