Unable to delete AI Studio managed GCP/Firebase project (double-station-jw532) - Owner is a service account, no delete permission

Hello,

I created an app in Google AI Studio which automatically created a linked GCP/Firebase project: double-station-jw532 (Project number: 5455679599..).

I later deleted the app from AI Studio, but the underlying GCP project is still active and cannot be deleted.

Issue details:

  • I do not have Owner role on this project. IAM shows the Owner role is assigned to a service account: service-...@gcp-sa-managedprojects.iam.gserviceaccount.com (Managed Projects Service Agent)
  • My account (suheb3....@gmail.com) only has limited roles like Cloud Datastore User, Cloud Run Viewer, Firebase Viewer, etc.
  • When I try to shut down/delete the project from Cloud Console, it says “You need additional access” and asks me to “Request access” for resourcemanager.projects.delete
  • The project does not appear under “Resources pending deletion”

Since this project was auto-created by AI Studio using my Google account, I would like to request that it be deleted, as I no longer need it and cannot manage it myself.

Please help delete this orphaned project or grant me the necessary permission to delete it myself.
