Unable to create a new project in Google Stitch – "Failed to create new project, please try again later"

I’m currently using Google Stitch, but I keep encountering an error when trying to create a new project. The error message says:

“Failed to create new project, please try again later.”

I’ve tried the following troubleshooting steps, but the issue persists:

  • Tested with multiple browsers (and fully cleared cache and cookies for each)

  • Tried using several different Google accounts

  • Changed my IP address multiple times

  • Cleared all browser data thoroughly

Despite all these efforts, I still cannot create a new project and receive the same error every time.

Has anyone else faced this issue or found a workaround? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

The same problem for about month+

This is really bad and also damages Google’s credibility! A major project like Stitch shouldn’t be having issues for this long. Does this project really not have an owner to look into the problem? Millions of users around the world are facing this issue right now, and the Stitch team couldn’t care less about what anyone has to say!

We created a project on your platform and need access to its files. Please stop damaging your own reputation any further! Fixing this bug would probably only take a few hours, but you’re just turning a deaf ear to everything.

Hey @EBRAHIM_SHAMSI, we are really sorry for this issue! This behavior has already been escalated to our engineering team. It has been quite difficult to reliably reproduce because the environmental factors vary for each user. We are actively rolling out incremental patches for it while collecting error logs. Additionally, we’ve noticed that many users hitting this auth block are attempting to access Stitch from unsupported countries, which persists the error state.

Please verify the following configuration on your end:

Make sure your browser hasn’t automatically disabled third-party cookies globally. Stitch relies on cross-domain authentication (app-companion-430619.appspot.com) to render the project canvas, and if those cookies are blocked, the authorization token gets dropped. Please try disabling any extensions like uBlock Origin, Brave Shields, or Privacy Badger entirely for the site to see if it unblocks you.
