I need help restoring the GitHub repository connection for an existing Google AI Studio application.
Application: DRIFAS

GitHub account: salimaissaad-eng
GitHub repository: DRIFAS
Branch: main
The GitHub repository is still intact and accessible.
The GitHub connection was removed following a recommendation from the Google AI Studio AI assistant itself. I followed its instructions because I was trying to resolve an issue with the GitHub synchronization. I did not remove the connection independently or intend to permanently disconnect the repository.
After following those instructions, the existing AI Studio workspace can no longer reconnect to the existing GitHub repository.
The current GitHub Sync screen only shows:
“A new GitHub repository will be created”
with a disabled “Sync to GitHub” button and “Create new repository” as the only available action.
I do not want to create a new GitHub repository or a new AI Studio workspace.
This existing DRIFAS workspace is already connected to an established Google Cloud/Firebase environment, including DEV/PROD Firebase projects and Cloud Run configuration. Creating a new AI Studio workspace would require unnecessary reconfiguration and could create risks for the existing application.
I am therefore requesting that Google restore or manually re-establish the GitHub repository binding for the existing AI Studio workspace, connecting it to:
salimaissaad-eng/DRIFAS → main
I have already created a local ZIP backup of the current AI Studio application, and the GitHub repository itself is intact.
Please do not create a new repository or ask me to recreate the existing application in another workspace unless there is absolutely no other way to restore the original GitHub binding.
