I found out something new about the quota issue on AG. It’s been around 2 weeks now that my quotas don’t refresh. (loops into 7 days timeout) Yesterday, Group 3 was supposed to return at 17:00 and… it did. I went there at 17:00 sharp and the quota was 100%. Nevertheless I was working at my main job and could only get back to it at 20:00. When I entered, my quota was already depleted to 40%. A 20% decrease every hour… I managed to use Claude Opus on AG for around 20 minutes before this 40% quota was gone straight to a 7 day time-out again.
So this makes the issue a bit more specific. It isn’t that our quotas aren’t refreshing, they are. The issue is that for some reason they’re being drained much quicker, even without any use, and directly to the 7 days time-out instead of the 5 hours.
I hope this helps google developers debug.

There’s a bunch of people on the Gemini API boards having issues with 3-4x costs recently too. I wonder if it’s the same issue. Gemini API costs skyrocketed overnight (x4 in 3 days)

google team let gemini handle this and it exhausted everyones limit and now their own server is down. what i could see from the debug code is despite i have the quota limit it is assuming i dont have quota. even if i have paid tier it still donot work. suprised google ide is broken in latest update. i would request all users to uninstall update and fall back to last version and check if this works again. if yes do not update to latest until it is patched.

Hi @flen_box, I have been exploring this forum for the last week and I’ve seen mixed reports on this. A coulpe of people posted about being able to fix the issue running at the .19 version while the great majority still faces the same issue regardless of the version. (me included)

I did not face this challenge until today. i was working late night and it was working without any issues where whole forum was discussing about the issue. Today it impacted me too. something hapenning at the backend.

Update:
Yesterday my quota on Group 1 was refreshed and didn’t deplete by itself. I used it for a while (it seemed around the same amount it lasted before) until it hit 20% quota. I stopped working and went out to do some errands, it was supposed to refresh in 5 hours. I came back and checked around 7-8 hours later and the quota was back back only to 40% with a 5 days refresh counter again…
So, is the new weekly baseline quota 120% of a 5 hours use?
