Request to Restore Advanced Sharing Permissions in AI Studio Web App Builder

Dear Google AI Studio Team,

I hope you are doing well.

I am writing to bring to your attention a recent change in the sharing permissions within the web app builder on aistudio.google.com.

Earlier, when creating a project, we had the flexibility to share access with team members by assigning different roles such as Viewer, Editor, or Owner. This functionality made it easy for teams to collaborate effectively while building web applications.

However, with the recent updates, it appears that sharing permissions are now limited to “view only” access when adding team members via email. Currently, there is no option to grant edit or ownership permissions. As a result, our team is unable to collaborate efficiently, since members can only view each other’s projects and cannot contribute directly.

This limitation is significantly impacting our workflow and productivity, as collaborative development is essential for building web applications in a team environment.

We kindly request you to:

  • Restore the previous sharing permission system that allowed assigning Editor and Owner roles

  • Reintroduce advanced sharing controls to support team collaboration

  • Provide guidance on any alternative collaboration features, if available

We truly value the AI Studio platform and appreciate the work your team is doing. We hope this concern can be addressed at the earliest so teams like ours can continue to build and collaborate effectively.

Thank you for your time and support.
