Use case: Real-time voice agent (AI receptionist) for small medical spas. The agent answers inbound calls when the owner is with a client, qualifies the caller, and sends a booking link via SMS. Built on Pipecat 1.0 with the Twilio Media Streams transport. Currently working against gemini-2.5-flash-native-audio-latest; would like to move to 3.1 Flash Live for the improved instruction-following and tool-calling mentioned in the launch announcement.
Volume estimate: 50-200 calls/day total across tenants at current stage, growing to ~1,500 calls/day within 90 days.
Current error on 3.1 Flash Live: 1011 None. Internal error encountered on bidiGenerateContent (the older 2.5 native-audio models work, confirming the key is otherwise authenticated). The older error was 1008 Your project has been denied access — that cleared after enabling billing, but 3.1 specifically remains gated.
