Project denied access — 403 PERMISSION_DENIED, requesting restoration

I’m requesting help restoring access to the Gemini API. All requests from my project are being rejected with the following error:

403 PERMISSION_DENIED: {‘error’: {‘code’: 403, ‘message’: ‘Your project has been denied access. Please contact support.’, ‘status’: ‘PERMISSION_DENIED’}}

Details:

  • This started occurring within the last few days on a project that was previously working normally.
  • I have already tried creating a brand new Google Cloud project and a brand new API key, and confirmed billing is linked — the same 403 error occurs with the new project/key as well.
  • I verified the Generative Language API is enabled in the project.
  • I tested directly in Google AI Studio with the same account and got the same denial.
  • My use case is a legitimate small business application: a Telegram bot that reads freight rate confirmation documents (PDF/images) for a trucking dispatch operation and extracts structured data using the Gemini API.

Could you please investigate why my account/project is being denied access, and restore access if this was applied in error? I’m happy to provide my project ID, API key ID (not the secret), or any other verification details needed.

Getting a 403 API error response and / or seeing “Unavailable” next to your project in AI audio indicates a flag has been placed on your account. To proceed:

  1. Check for banners / error callouts in the AI Studio Projects page & the Billing page.

  2. If the issue isn’t clear from the above, contact Cloud Billing Support.
