Good afternoon! I am creating historical videos about people’s lives 100 years ago. The problem is that most of the photos I try to restore for content creation fail the “sensitive materials” check in Nano Banana. There are no children in the images, just people and old architecture. What can be done about this? I spend more time searching for some incredible word combinations to pass the check than on the actual creativity. Very dissatisfied! Is there a way to resolve this issue? I mostly use the Higgsfield platform to access Nano Banana.
Hi @Ivan_Muraviev ,
Welcome to the Forum !!
Could you please share the prompt with us so that we can test from our end?
Of course, there are many of them..
- Restore and colorize this old photo
- Ultra-realistic cinematic photograph — a historical scene reimagined in photorealism: Transform the composition into a high-quality photorealistic photograph taken with a professional camera (Canon EOS R5 or Sony A7R IV) at 8K resolution under natural daylight. The scene is recreated as if captured in real time by a documentary photographer — not an illustration, not a painting, but a real moment frozen in time. All models must be accurate, realistic, and fully three-dimensional — with no cartoonish proportions, no flatness, no symbolic gestures. The lighting is warm, natural daylight — late afternoon or midday sun casting soft shadows that enhance realism. Every detail must be visible. No painting, illustrations, sketches, cartoons, or stylization — only pure photographic realism. No artistic exaggeration — every action must follow physical logic. This is not an artistic interpretation — it is a realistic reconstruction of a historical event as if it were photographed today. Preserve the original composition and narrative intent but render them with full realism and depth.

The image is styled like a true photograph: shallow depth of field, soft focus, natural color grading, blue sky, subtle film grain — with no artificial enhancement. No painting, illustration, cartoon, or sketch elements — only pure realism. - Photorealistic color cinematic image — high detail, documentary style, historical authenticity:

- Restore Faded Colors and Enhance Details
Prompt: “Restore an old, faded color photograph. Revive the original vibrancy of colors, ensuring natural skin tones, vivid clothing hues, and accurate background shades. Sharpen fine details like facial features, textures of fabrics, and background elements without introducing noise. Remove any visible scratches or dust spots while preserving the image’s authentic vintage look. Ensure the lighting is balanced to avoid overexposure or harsh contrasts.”
Repair Scratches and Tears
Prompt: “Restore a black-and-white photograph with multiple scratches and a small tear in the upper-right corner. Reconstruct the damaged areas by seamlessly blending them with surrounding pixels to maintain continuity in patterns, textures, and tones. Ensure the repaired areas match the grain and style of the original image. Enhance overall clarity and contrast without altering the historical character of the photo.”
Colorize a Black-and-White Photo
Prompt: “Take a black-and-white photograph and colorize it realistically. Analyze the context of the image (e.g., clothing, setting, era) to apply historically accurate colors for skin tones, clothing, and environmental elements like grass, sky, or buildings. Avoid oversaturation and ensure the colors blend naturally. Remove any minor blemishes or stains while maintaining the original textures and details.”
Reconstruct Missing Parts
Prompt: “Restore an old photograph with a missing section in the center, approximately 20% of the image. Reconstruct the missing area by intelligently filling it based on the surrounding context, such as faces, clothing, or background scenery. Ensure the reconstructed portion seamlessly matches the style, lighting, and grain of the original image. Enhance overall sharpness and remove any visible cracks or discoloration.”
