Please restore PNG download / output option for Nano Banana 2 / Nano Banana Pro in AI Studio

Hello Google AI team,

I would like to request that PNG download / output support be restored for Nano Banana 2 and Nano Banana Pro in Google AI Studio, or that users be given a clear option to choose between PNG and JPEG output.

In my workflow, I use AI Studio for iterative image editing and photorealistic refinement, especially for high-detail commercial visuals such as interior scenes, product composites, and catalog-style images. In this type of workflow, lossless PNG output is very important.

The current JPEG-only behavior creates several problems:

Progressive quality degradation across multiple rounds
When an edited image is downloaded as JPEG, then re-uploaded for another refinement pass, image quality gradually degrades. This is especially visible in:
soft gradients
white or light-colored walls
rug or fabric textures
shadow transitions
fine edges
subtle color separation and white balance
Less reliable professional workflow
Many users are not generating a final image in one pass. We often work in multiple controlled iterations. JPEG may be acceptable for quick preview or casual use, but for professional editing and redraw workflows, PNG is much safer and more stable.
Unwanted compression artifacts in clean design images
For premium interiors, product images, and layout-driven visuals, even light JPEG compression can reduce realism and make the image feel softer, dirtier, or less consistent over repeated edits.

What I am requesting:

Please restore PNG download support in AI Studio for Nano Banana 2 / Nano Banana Pro
Or provide a user-selectable output format option: PNG / JPEG
Ideally also provide a quality control option for JPEG when JPEG is used
If PNG cannot be the default, please at least make it an optional export choice

This would significantly improve professional usability for users doing high-end image refinement, compositing, and iterative edit workflows.

Thank you.
