I’ve been a subscriber since last May (back when it was Gemini Advanced) and a frequent API user. I’ve always held Google and DeepMind’s technology in the highest regard.
I am currently developing a Japanese-style horror puzzle indie game and have been using Gemini 2.5 Pro as my primary creative partner. The script alone is nowhere near finished, yet 2.5 Pro is already scheduled for deprecation.
I have tested other models, but they either misinterpret or lack a deep understanding of my world-building, characters, relationships, and overall plot. Furthermore, it is incredibly difficult to prompt them to replicate 2.5 Pro’s specific vocabulary, character voice, atmospheric tension, and overall writing style.
The impending shutdown of 2.5 Pro gives me anxiety every single day. I am rushing to push the project forward, but the constant stress and panic are actively draining my inspiration.
I am absolutely sure I am not the only one feeling this way. Complete model iterations always end up destroying something. And if we just keep iterating like this, in certain place,the truly deep place,nothing will be left behind.
Can we change this starting now? Can we keep the Gemini 2.5 Pro API and not deprecate it?
