I am a paid Google AI Pro subscriber encountering an authentication failure during account setup in the IDE.
- Error Details:
- Screen Title: “There was an unexpected issue setting up your account.”
- Error Message: “Your account is not eligible for Gemini Code Assist for individuals at this time”
- Action Available: “Sign in with a different account” (Looping failure)
-
Core Issue:
There is an apparent disconnection between the Google One/Google AI Pro consumer subscription system and the Gemini Code Assist entitlement verification backend. Even with an active paid AI Pro plan, the setup process fails to grant individual access or recognize the paid tier, treating the account as unentitled and blocking all access to the workspace.
-
Impact:
Legitimate paid subscribers cannot complete onboarding or use development assistance tools, resulting in complete service denial.
-
Requested Action:
- Reconcile the entitlement bridge between Google AI Pro subscriptions and Gemini Code Assist for Individuals.
- Whitelist or provision individual access eligibility for this account.
Hi @tzssd_tzssdb,
This issue usually happens when the Antigravity IDE caches an outdated or unentitled state locally, falling out of sync with your active Google AI Pro subscription.
To force the IDE to pull your updated subscription entitlements, please follow these steps to clear the local auth cache:
- Open your terminal and run
agy logout to clear your current session.
- Run
agy login to sign back in. This will fetch your fresh Google AI Pro entitlement flags.
- Restart your Antigravity IDE.
If the setup screen still blocks you, you can completely clear the cached state by running Antigravity: Reset Onboarding from the Command Palette (Ctrl+Shift+P / Cmd+Shift+P).
Please let me know if this resolves the issue for you!
it doesn‘t work because i also have trouble in verifying. Detail is in my new topic
Neither the IDE nor 2.0 works. In 2.0, it gets stuck in a loop where the service cannot be used after completing mobile phone verification. In IDE shows “Your account is not eligible for Gemini Code Assist for individuals at this time”.
This issue has never occurred before; it only appeared after the update.
