New user getting Failed to create project error

Hello,

Just got access to the AI Studio on 28 Oct. I had just heard about using Gemini on the CLI and I am assuming that allowing me access to the AI studio will allow me to create API keys. Or to create a project so I can use that ID to authenticate via Gemini CLI.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to be able to create a project? That will provide me with either a Project ID or the ability to create API keys?

Is this something set at the organization level?

Welcome to the Forum!!
You can now generate API keys directly from Google AI Studio for use with the Gemini CLI
Go to AI Studio → Get API Key → Create API Key.

Thank you for the steps.

When I try to create an API key, I am asked to import a project. None of the projects allow me to import. I guess I need to go back to my Gemini admin team and either get permission on an existing project. Or the ability to create my own?
