Can't create project in google ai studio

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to generate a Gemini API key in Google AI Studio. However, whenever I try to create a new project from the dashboard, I get this error message:

“Failed to create project: permission denied. Please try again.”

The weird thing is, I am using my main account which has a Google Pro (Google One AI Premium) subscription. But when I tried using a different, standard free Google account, it worked perfectly and I got the API key right away.

Has anyone experienced this issue before? Why would a premium account get a permission denial while a free one works, and how can I fix this on my main account?

Hello!

This error sometimes occurs when you run out of the number of GCP projects you can create in GCP or import in AIS.
Can you try deleting one of the existing projects and then try again immediately or after a few hours. Please let us know if you still face the same error.
