My project is not on the drop-down list when generating a Gemini API Key

Hello,

I am trying to generate an API key via Google’S AI Studio, but the project I want to use is not listed for me to choose from. The only project I have available is my own sandbox project, but that is not the project I want to have the key for.

The project is managed by a company, billing is enabled and I have all the required accesses to do it.

It could be due to these issues.. Can you please troubleshoot the following:

  1. Verify IAM Role in the Company Project
    Make sure your account has at least one of the following roles:
  • Editor
  • Viewer + Service Account Key Admin
  • AI Platform Admin
  • Vertex AI User

If you don’t see your name/email there, ask a project owner to add you.

  1. Enable Gemini API on That Project

Once you ensure these are present, try to sign-off and sign-in again… This should fix the problem.

thanks for your support. Unfortunately, your suggestion did not work.

I am the project owner, and I have the Gemini API enabled. Even then, I still can’t choose the project in the drop-down.

Any other suggestions?
