Is anyone else having this problem? I’ve been reading that they apparently changed the quota policies. If that’s the case, I’m better off buying Claude directly—it costs $18 USD and the resets are faster.
yes it happens with free account even if you have google pro with you this limit will reset on 28 jan 2026 at 9:20 am

Same here and Google Support is solving nothing, to be honest, this looks like scam really. I mean whats the point on having a Google AI PRO Plan if I have to wait the same time as users with the free tier, I don’t undestand.

Does anyone knows why the rate limit is changing every hours? Yesterday night my renewal limit was every 4hours and today I need to wait more than 6 days without doing anything. I’m on Google AI PRO Plan. Seems Google is starting to do blackbox as Anthropic on the tokens and plan visibility
My take you have a monthly base limit broken into weeks and 5 hourly blocks?
You can use up a weeks worth within a 5 hour block the best I can tell. Hourly counter can count down and you get no refresh of quota, then next thing it says 6 days.
Your weekly allowance is used up.
