I just heard of the new Gemini-2.5 model and was super excited about using it for my own Android app, which I’m currently developing for my school. However, it seems like the model has no support for Kotlin files yet, even if it itself says so when asked. Whenever I try to import a Kotlin file, I just get a red error message saying “The current model doesn’t support files of this type.”
I already searched online about this issue but I found absolutely nothing and was just curious if this is intended or not.
If not, why do I have this problem, does anyone else have the same problem and how can it be fixed?
If yes, hopefully support for Kotlin files gets added quickly. I can’t wait to try Gemini-2.5 out with them!
