Manual sync request: "Error during billing setup" — prepay credits purchased but tier stuck on free trial

Hello,

My billing account appears to be stuck in an inconsistent prepay state. I purchased prepay credits but no project can be moved off the free tier.

Billing account ID: 018DD6-D7EFEB-753.. (“My Billing Account”)
Project ID: gen-lang-client-0414904.. (Default Gemini Project)
Project ID: gen-lang-client-0388958.. (nano-banana)

Current state:

  • Prepay credit balance shows 5,000 JPY, added on 2026-08-13.
  • The AI Studio billing page shows “Billing setup completed” and the Cloud billing account linking dialog also showed “Gemini API paid tier is now enabled.”
  • However, on the API keys page, every key still shows “Free trial” under Billing tier, and clicking “Enable billing” returns “Error during billing setup”.
  • I created a brand new project (gen-lang-client-0388958334) and linked the same billing account. The same error occurs, so this is not project-specific.
  • I also set a monthly spend limit of 1,000 JPY, which did not change anything.
  • More than 12 hours have passed since the billing setup completed.
  • Nano Banana Pro (gemini-3-pro-image) is therefore unavailable both in the Playground and via the API.

Could you please perform a manual sync on this billing account?

Note: There is no manual billing sync process at our end.

Our records indicate that billing account 018DD6-D7EFEB-753... and associated projects gen-lang-client-0414904... and gen-lang-client-0388958... are now active on the paid tier with an active prepaid balance.

Next steps:

  • Test your API requests or access to paid models directly using your existing API keys for gen-lang-client-0414904... or gen-lang-client-0388958....
  • If an API key in Google AI Studio still displays free trial limits, create a new API key within either linked project.
  • You can manage your prepaid wallet balance at https://aistudio.google.com/billing.
