Hi team,
We are building a commercial video generation service and are blocked by the
“prominent individuals” safety filter. We would like guidance on the correct
path forward.
Project details
- Project ID: soulie-e14..
- Project Number: 5669947115..
- Billing: enabled
- Model: gemini-omni-flash-preview
- Location: global
- Surface: Vertex AI / Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform
What we are building
A consumer service that generates short videos featuring a celebrity artist,
either alone or together with the end user. Two input types are used:
- Reference photos of the artist. We have a signed license agreement with
the artist and their agency that covers AI-generated video content. - A photo of the end user, uploaded by that user with explicit consent for
this specific purpose.
All generated videos are labeled as AI-generated. We do not generate content
involving minors, and we do not use the likeness of any person for whom we do
not hold a license or consent.
What is blocking us
When we upload the licensed artist reference image, the request is rejected
before generation starts.
Error message (verbatim):
“The input could not be submitted. This input contains certain prominent
individuals that violate Google’s Responsible AI practices. If you think this
was an error, send feedback.”
No support code is shown with this error.
Reproduced in: Agent Studio (console), model gemini-omni-flash-preview.
Our questions
-
Is it possible to use this via the API for a commercial service, given
that we hold a license for the artist’s likeness? Or is the filter applied
unconditionally regardless of rights held? -
Does this require a specific plan or agreement — an enterprise contract,
a paid support tier, or a separate commercial agreement? If so, who should
we contact and what is the process? -
Is there a verification or review process we need to go through before
licensed likeness can be used? -
Is there any surface where we can test this before launch — a sandbox, an
allowlisted project, or a preview API — so we can validate the pipeline
and quality? Right now we cannot run a single test because the filter
blocks the input at submission time. -
If gemini-omni-flash-preview is not the right model for this use case, is
there another Google model or product that supports licensed likeness?
Thank you.
