Hi,
I have an active Google AI Pro plan offered through Jio. My Google One settings show “Google AI Pro – Offered through Jio”, and AI Studio shows the PRO badge on my account.
But every prompt in the AI Studio Playground fails with:
“Failed to generate content: Gemini API free tier is not available in your country. Please enable billing on your project in Google AI Studio.”
The model response just shows “An internal error has occurred.”
What I’ve checked:
- It happens with Gemini 4 Argon and with Gemini 3.1 Pro Preview
- It happens with Grounding with Google Search both on and off
- No API key is linked in AI Studio
- I’m in Kosovo, which is listed as a supported region
It looks like AI Studio isn’t applying my Pro subscription and is falling back to the free API tier, which isn’t available here without billing. Could someone from the AI Studio team check the subscription entitlement on my account? I can share my account email privately.
