I’m experiencing persistent connectivity issues with Google AI Studio’s Stream Realtime feature and hoping the community can help troubleshoot this frustrating problem.
Current Status:
Talk: Working perfectly
Webcam: Not functional- Screen sharing: Not functional
Error Pattern:
Both webcam and screen sharing follow the same failure sequence:
- Shows “Connecting to server…”
- Then displays “Stream is live” (approximately 2 seconds)
- Immediately crashes with “Something went wrong”
This issue has been ongoing for one week now, making it impossible to fully utilize this AI tool.
Troubleshooting Steps Already Attempted
I’ve systematically tried every standard solution:
Browser-Level Fixes:
- Disabled all browser extensions
- Cleared browser cache and cookies
- Cleared complete browsing history
- Reset browser permissions
- Enabled hardware acceleration
Multi-Platform Testing:
- Tested across different browsers (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Opera, Opera GX)
- Tested on multiple devices
- Tested with different Google accounts
- Tested different network connections
The inability to use webcam and screen sharing significantly limits the platform’s potential, making it crucial to resolve these connectivity issues.
