Google AI Studio GitHub Pull, Push and Import fail with "Failed to create user snapshot"

I am experiencing a persistent GitHub integration problem with an existing Google AI Studio Build project.

Branch: main

The repository is private.

The project was previously connected to this GitHub repository and the website is currently deployed successfully from GitHub through Vercel.

The GitHub connection itself appears to work because AI Studio can:

  • recognize and display the repository
  • recognize the main branch
  • detect that both AI Studio and GitHub contain changes
  • open the GitHub conflict resolver
  • display the file conflicts

I also verified that the Google AI Studio GitHub App is installed on my GitHub account with the required permissions and access to all repositories.

However, the actual GitHub operations fail:

  1. Pull changes to Google AI Studio
    → “Failed to create user snapshot.”

  2. Push changes to GitHub
    → “Failed to create user snapshot.”

  3. Import the same repository into a new AI Studio project
    → “Internal error encountered.”

I have already tried:

  • retrying the operations multiple times
  • refreshing AI Studio
  • hard refreshing the browser
  • reauthorizing the GitHub App
  • approving the updated GitHub App permissions
  • verifying repository access
  • testing project file access from inside AI Studio

The project can still read files normally. For example, AI Studio successfully read package.json and returned the scripts.start value.

I also tested importing another repository from the SAME GitHub account:

nishan1805/UXC-36

That repository imported successfully.

This strongly suggests the problem is specific to the cosmetic-kraft repository/project rather than my GitHub account or general GitHub authorization.

I have attached screenshots showing:

  • “Failed to create user snapshot”
  • GitHub App permissions
  • GitHub conflict resolver
  • failed import of cosmetic-kraft
  • successful import of another repository

Could you please investigate the snapshot/GitHub binding for this project and advise how I can restore normal Pull/Push/Import functionality?

I have not disconnected the existing repository because I need to preserve the current repository binding, Git history, and Vercel deployment.
