Google AI Studio app publishing fails — Firestore project locked

Hello,

I’m trying to republish my existing app, PolyGrammar – Multilingual Grammar Master, in Google AI Studio.

When I click Publish, I see “Failed to publish app” with no additional details.

During Step 1, AI Studio says my Google Cloud project is locked because it is required by Firestore. The project is platinum-gradient-c9v0l. I also don’t see a Starter Tier option or a billing setup option.

Could you help me determine why publishing fails and whether I can republish my existing app without enabling paid billing?

Thanks for flagging this! We’ve rolled out a fix for this issue. Please try the following steps:

  1. Hard refresh Google AI Studio (Ctrl+Shift+R on Windows/Linux or Cmd+Shift+R on Mac) and open your existing app.
  2. Open the Publish panel—it should now recognize your existing deployment and restore the Republish button and your existing URL.

If you’re still running into any issues after refreshing, please share your Applet ID (from your app URL https://aistudio.google.com/apps/drive/<APPLET_ID>) and a screenshot of the Publish panel so we can take a look.
