Gemini Code Assist entitlement never provisioned for active Google AI Pro account — "not eligible for Gemini Code Assist for individuals" on all three clients

Summary OAuth sign-in succeeds on every Google surface, but the Gemini Code Assist entitlement for this account is never issued. The account has an active Google One AI Pro (5 TB) subscription and is age-verified. Antigravity (standalone 2.17.0), Antigravity IDE (2.5.5) and Gemini CLI (0.61.0) all fail immediately after login with the same message and roll back to the signed-out state.

Exact error “Your account is not eligible for Gemini Code Assist for individuals at this time” / “This client is no longer supported for Gemini Code Assist for individuals. To continue using Gemini, please migrate to the Antigravity suite of products: https://antigravity.google”

What the backend returns — POST v1internal:loadCodeAssist, mode=FULL_ELIGIBILITY_CHECK:

  • allowedTiers: standard-tier (isDefault: true)
  • ineligibleTiers: free-tier — reasonCode: UNSUPPORTED_CLIENT
  • No cloudaicompanionProject and no current tier in any response

Language server log

  • server.go:3004 Auth succeeded, refreshing features and managers is logged
  • SetProjectID, SetLocation, SetUserTier are repeatedly called with empty values
  • The client never issues v1internal:onboardUser

Google authorization page after OAuth “The authentication was successful, and the following products are now authorized to access your account: Gemini Code Assist, Cloud Code with Gemini Code Assist, Gemini CLI, Antigravity”

Clients tried — 3 versions, identical result

  1. Antigravity standalone 2.17.0 (macOS)
  2. Antigravity IDE 2.5.5 (macOS)
  3. Gemini CLI 0.61.0 (Node 22)

All three authenticate successfully, then immediately show the message above and return to the sign-in screen.

Verification attempts — no prompt is ever shown

  • Online verification: the account age-verification and security pages show no pending challenge, no unconfirmed two-step prompt and no age hold
  • Inside all three apps there is no verification prompt to click — the app returns to the sign-in screen instead, so the flow cannot be started
  • Signed out, revoked the app’s access under myaccount.google.com/connections, wiped local credentials and authenticated again from scratch: identical outcome

Account

  • Personal, this is a regression on a long-standing paid account, not a new configuration.
  • Google One AI Pro (5 TB), active and in good standing
  • Account region (US) is on the published supported-locations list for Gemini Code Assist

Request Please inspect the backend entitlement state for this account and either (a) issue the Cloud Code project / Gemini Code Assist entitlement, or (b) reset the eligibility state so a fresh sign-in provisions correctly. If the free tier is intentionally unavailable here, please clarify which product the AI Pro subscription is meant to unlock and what the client is expected to send instead.

Cheers

I just realized I have the same issue today.

Hi @Pak and @Legolas,

Welcome to the Forum.

Thank you for sharing the detailed diagnostic logs. This isn’t an issue with your Google AI Pro plan—Antigravity re-verifies accounts on sign-in, and when a verification check (403 VALIDATION_REQUIRED) is pending, loadCodeAssist withholds project and tier provisioning until verification is completed.

To resolve this, please try the following steps:

  1. Migrate from Gemini CLI to Antigravity CLI (v1.2.11): Standalone Gemini CLI (0.61.0) is no longer supported for individual accounts (UNSUPPORTED_CLIENT). Please migrate to Antigravity CLI (agy, v1.2.11) per the GCLI Migration Guide.
  2. Update Antigravity 2.0 to v2.18.1 and Trigger Verification: Download the latest Antigravity 2.0 (v2.18.1) or Antigravity CLI (v1.2.11) from the official download page (Changelog), sign in with the same account, and start a new conversation / send a message to trigger the verification prompt.
  3. Use an Alternate Verification Method if QR/SMS Stalls: If scanning the QR code gets stuck, open the verification link (or the "validation_url" found in ~/Library/Application Support/Antigravity IDE/logs/<session>/ls-main.log) on a phone or tablet already signed into your Google account and select Device check instead of SMS. Once verified, run Cmd+Shift+P → Antigravity: Reset Onboarding in Antigravity IDE (v2.5.5) and sign in again.

If the issue persists, please attach your updated diagnostic logs in a .txt file or an error screenshot.
