I have a persistent issue where my Gemini API usage is not being recorded in Google Cloud, and I would appreciate any assistance.
The situation:
My API calls from Google AI Studio work correctly (I get valid responses), but the usage never appears in the “APIs & Services” dashboard or in the Billing Reports. It has been several days.
What I have done:
- My project is linked to a billing account.
- The “Gemini API” is enabled.
- To resolve this, I have upgraded my account from the Free Trial to a standard pay-as-you-go paid plan.
- I contacted Google Cloud Billing Support. They confirmed there is no billing activity on my project, but told me that technical investigation is out of their scope because my account only has Basic Support. They directed me to post my question here in the community.
It seems there is a fundamental issue preventing my project’s API usage from being metered correctly. Has anyone experienced this before? Is there a known issue or a step I might be missing?
