Free Trial credits not applied to Gemini API charges — requesting billing adjustment/refund

Hi,

I am a new Google Cloud user (billing account: 011828-ACA470-52BB8D) with an active Free Trial credit of 260.15€ valid until July 7, 2026.

I connected Google AI Studio to my Cloud billing account and used the Gemini API (gemini-2.5-pro) starting in April 2026. I was charged 60.70€ directly to my Mastercard, with zero Free Trial credits applied — the “Programmes de remises” column in my billing report shows — for all charges.

I was not informed at any point during the AI Studio billing setup that Free Trial credits no longer apply to Gemini Developer API charges. I had used this same setup previously and it worked. The policy change (around March 7, 2026) was not clearly communicated.

My account now has an outstanding balance of 62.84€ and a failed payment on May 1, 2026 (card declined). I am concerned my account will be suspended before I can resolve this.

I am requesting:

  1. A billing adjustment / refund of 60.70€ for April 2026 Gemini API charges, as this resulted from an undocumented policy change
  2. That any account suspension be paused while this is being reviewed

I intend to switch to Vertex AI going forward to correctly use my Free Trial credits.
