i sign up recently on an account and i had a 300$ credits, but the gemini api i made for my app still takes from my visa and the credits are still the same.. why?
They recently changed the documentation so the free credits aren’t included in the generative API. If you got the credits before it, you still can use them, of course.
The $300 in credits is only for advertising costs I think, I found out the hard way…
i migrated to vertex. Then they will disable vertex by the end if june so people have to go to the paid ai studio !! Lolll
I ran into the same wall. It seems Google changed the policy to only apply the $300 welcome credits to Vertex AI, which is terrible for rapid prototyping compared to Google AI Studio.
I escalated this by opening a detailed feature request on the Google Issue Tracker. The great news is that it passed triage and was just assigned to a Googler today.
