Subject: Request for Refund - Billing Misunderstanding regarding GCP Credits and AI Studio
Hi team,
I am a student developer and I’ve encountered an issue with the recent billing changes. I had a $300 Google Cloud Free Trial credit and assumed it would cover my Gemini API usage in AI Studio.
However, I was surprised to see a direct charge on my credit card instead of the credits being deducted. I wasn’t clearly notified that AI Studio now uses a separate billing path from Vertex AI.
I have already switched back to the Free Tier to stop further charges. As this was a misunderstanding of the new policy, could the team please look into this and help me with a refund or credit adjustment?
