Disappointed: No Acknowledgment for Gemini API Developer Competition Participants

Hello all,

First of all, I would like to thank you for arranging the Gemini API Developer Competition and for the opportunity to show our skills. Competition among more than 3,000 developers had been quite a challenge and an enriching experience.

On the other hand, I am extremely disappointed with the utter lack of recognition for participants who have put time and effort into this competition…

I know not everybody could be a winner, but somehow this doesn’t feel good-at least a participation certificate or comments on performance could be sent to us…

Maybe just a note of ranking or a certificate can do a lot in motivating participants and letting the world appreciate their hard work. In that case, it gives a feeling that it was not worth wasting time or giving efforts.

A rating would be good to get an idea of how our apps are performing in the competition.

Lloyd says he’ll mention other project in his blog after he decompresses and takes some time off. If you are lucky you may make that bucket?

9 winners, and he will mention only about 25 other non-winning projects. What about all the other 2980+ submissions?

Maybe a podcast could pick them up

where he will mention these 25 app ?

He said in his blog. In his message the link was pointing to the competition website, so maybe there could be mentions and news there. I’m pretty sure extra material about the winners can be incorporated there, and there could come some more mentions.
I saw that the Firebase category winner was mentioned in the Firebase blog, however that would not be good place for the other winners.
Lloyd said he’ll have some downtime now, so we’ll have to be patient again, and I am sure it’ll turn out. I am super curious too BTW.
