I’ve been building a small tool using Canvas in Gemini on the free tier. I was running things just fine for a while and then started hitting the errors basically showing that I was overloading the API. Makes sense so far, but my confusions started when I went to check my rate limits in Google API studio and found that I had been going well over my request limits per day with seemingly no problem up to that point. So I feel like I’m not 100% sure whether I understand how these rate limits are calculated. Why was I allowed to go over the limit of 20 requests per day? (My data shows something like 255/20 requests per day).
