Section 5. HOW TO ENTER specifies that the submission must include a video demonstration of the application integrating a publicly available Gemini model via the Gemini API. This implies that the application should be in a complete and functional state by the submission deadline.

thacks for the answer sadly i saw the competition like 3 4 weeks ago and i m solo developing it . it s impossible that i can finish it
Maybe just try to finish the part that shows off Gemini, and just disable the rest of it.

Not fully finished but it must be functional and bug free per the competition guidelines.
Rules clearly says that it can be a prototype that integrates Gemini API. You need to make sure that your “incomplete” app has the parts that require Gemini is working.

I have successfully completed a writing style coach app singled handed using the Gemini API within a week. Apps Script and Workspace were completely new to me as I tend to program in Python and React from scratch full-stack. The learning curve for the development part was not that steep considering I started last week, but I struggled in the provisioning of the app (consent, scope) and currently waiting for verification. I do not think I will be able to meet the deadline. For curiosity, and may be for next time, did the video need to be uploaded in YouTube? Are there any Discord or Slack community channels or forthocming events in the UK?

No, but you can stay in touch here, and there is an old Google Discord but they are no longer advertising it so I am not sure if it’s still around.

Unfortunately, the rules stated that the competition deadline was August 12th, 11:59 PM in GMT timezone. I don’t think they’ll take late applications anymore.
Super disappointing, I looked over the website again and again and could not find the exact time. Ultimately I thought they would accept it through the 12th, and given that Google is based in CA, pacific time seemed a safe assumption

@luluthepooh do you know anyone from the google side who moderates, is paying attention to this thread?
I was literally 3 hours late and am hoping to have months worth of work considered.
I have Googler friends, but I don’t know anyone related to this competition. Sorry. Your app seems cool though, great job!

Even when I visit the page now, it mentions the competition being closed- the closure listed as August 12th with no specific time mentioned 
. I at no time saw the actual closing time and submitted 3 hours late after a months’ long marathon.
Would really appreciate your consideration in accepting my submission.

That’s too bad because you have a really good idea with the chrome extension. I think it has good potentials. Unfortunately, they’re likely sifting through 100s or possibly 1000s of videos and submissions right now and will unlikely look outside the official submission form.
Also, they had a countdown timer showing how long till submission window closes. That’s what I used to check how long I had.
Same, I was about to submit mine at 10pm CST yesterday, and missed the window. If you run across any late submissions link or email, please let me know. Great idea too by the way, now since you did all of that work, get it out there and make money from it!
