Commits to codebase after deadline

Google will be judging your submission based on you write-up on the submission form + video + code you’ve submitted as of the deadline date.

  1. You can’t change your write-up after you’ve submitted the Google form. It’s not technically possible.
  2. You can’t change your YouTube video after you’ve submitted the link on Google form either. It’s not technically possible.
  3. You can technically change your code if it’s an open-source project URL on Github BUT the judges will likely check your code based on your revision history as of the deadline date. So it doesn’t matter if you change your code here.
  4. You can technically change your uploaded codebase zipped file after the deadline BUT it’s pretty easy to see the uploaded date there and judges will likely disqualify your code part of the submission if you do this.

For many of us, the products we made for the Gemini competition aren’t JUST for the competition, it’s a potential business that we’re planning to launch or are in the process of launching. The judges know this and will likely be happier if you polish your live version of the app. Why? Well, if your app wins one of the categories, Google will be blogging or making videos about your app submissions to promote Gemini. If people download or try your app online after seeing you’ve won any competition category, they will want those apps to look great and keep Google’s image great.

That’s the whole point of this competition i.e. encourage or accustom developers to use Gemini API worldwide and showcase the power of Gemini to everyone.
