Even after switching to a different browser, the issue remains. Has this feature been disabled?

The “Rerun this turn” control in Google AI Studio is not permanently disabled, but its availability depends on the state of the conversation and model session context. It appears only when a given turn can be re-executed against the same prompt and model configuration; if the workspace has unsaved edits, the model version changed, or the project lost its temporary session token, the button is hidden to prevent inconsistent state reruns. Clearing your session cache or restarting the chat typically restores the button.
To confirm, open AI Studio, select the same model configuration, and click “Reset chat” to reinitialize the session before rerunning the turn. If the issue persists across browsers, check the browser console for blocked scripts and ensure third-party cookies are enabled, since AI Studio stores transient run context locally. For persistent behavior, sign out and back in to refresh your editor token; if the control remains unavailable, contact Vertex AI Support with your project ID so the team can examine your AI Studio environment settings.

Thanks, the issue seems to be fixed now. But a few hours ago, starting a new conversation did make the rerun button show a 
emoji and it couldn’t be used. Pretty strange.

Not fixed for me, I’m having this issue past 3 days. It went from working 99% of the time to not working at all; often requiring a refresh on the interface.

can you please share why it works sometimes and it doesn’t? Even if I’m using the exact same input (either text or image). It was working reliably the since last week, but until this week, it became on and off, despite changing browsers, clearing cache, clearing Gdrive for images, etc.

The issue has come up again, and quite frequently. It keeps telling me ‘Finish editing to rerun,’ but I haven’t edited anything at all.

While your team is figuring out the reason, please change back to old interface first, such that we can use the function normally.
