Description: During Antigravity CLI authorization, the flow forces mobile verification via SMS to short code 244444. Local cellular carriers strictly block outbound SMS to international short codes, causing the verification to fail continuously. Could an Antigravity team member please manually clear the verification flag on my account or provide an alternative email/authenticator verification method?
Hi @Will_Smith1,
Welcome to the Forum.
You can avoid the outbound SMS to short code 244444 using the following steps:
-
Use “Device check” Instead of SMS on an Android Device: Rather than scanning the QR code to send an SMS, open the verification link directly on an Android phone or tablet that is already signed into your smith.w…@gmail.com account and select an alternate verification option such as “Device check” instead of SMS. Also check Google Account Security and Google Account Notifications in your browser to clear any pending security alerts.
-
Confirm Regional Availability & Disable VPN/Proxy: Short code 244444 is a US domestic short code that is usually forced when a US VPN/proxy is active during sign-in, or when connecting from an unsupported location. Please ensure your country is listed in our Geographical Availability FAQ, turn off any VPN or proxy, and retry on the latest Antigravity CLI (v1.2.11) (CLI Install & Auth Docs).
-
Alternative — Use a Gemini API Key in Antigravity CLI: If you are in a supported region and still want to bypass Google Account OAuth verification in the CLI, you can authenticate directly with a Google AI Studio API key by setting "modelProvider": "gemini" in ~/.gemini/antigravity-cli/settings.json and exporting GEMINI_API_KEY="your-api-key".
If the issue persists, please reply with your country/region .
