Why is Serbia not on the list? We have some of the smartest developers in the world and i do not see my country on the list?
According to the official rules, participants must be legal residents of one of the eligible countries listed, and unfortunately, Serbia is not included. This might be due to various legal or regulatory issues, possibly even something related to broader Balkans-related sanctions. However, Serbia itself isn’t under any specific sanctions or embargoes, so its exclusion does seem a bit odd.
I completely agree that Serbia has some incredibly talented developers, and this exclusion is surprising. It definitely warrants an official explanation from Google.
Unfortunately, for now, the wise bet is to assume developers from Serbia are ineligible and not invest resources in the competition you wouldn’t be expending otherwise.
In the meantime, you can check out the official rules of the Gemini API Developer Competition on their website for more details.
What if part of my team is from USA?
All members of a team must reside in an eligible country.
