I was using the AI studio when one day my chats stoped saving. Initially, I thought it was a storage issue, so I removed old chats, but that didn’t fix it. The problem was that auto save was disabled, but I hadn’t done that. I enabled it, and now again it is disabled.

I’ve experienced something similar. It’s frustrating when your work isn’t automatically saved.
I’ve noticed that auto-save seems to disable itself sometimes, especially when my IP address changes, or when I’m using a VPN. Different countries have varying regulations regarding AI, and it seems Google might be resetting the auto-save function as a precaution. Switching Google accounts could also trigger this.
While it’s not ideal, keeping an eye on the auto-save toggle and re-enabling it when necessary might be a temporary workaround.
