Our studio’s WhatsApp service receives adult enquiries and may receive messages from minors. Adults may discuss child students; we will not use a student’s age to establish the sender’s age.
We propose a server-enforced Gemini branch restricted to individually verified adult senders, using staff verification through an established in-person adult identity, sender-bound expiring/revocable grants, shared-account exclusion and pre/post-request checks. Unknown or under-18 senders remain deterministic. Only generic current text would reach Gemini; no names, identifiers, student details, history or media.
Does this feature-level separation satisfy your Age Requirements while the wider WhatsApp client remains mixed-audience, or must the entire API client be adult-only? Is the proposed adult verification acceptable; if not, what assurance do you require? Please provide an applicable official policy or written confirmation from the responsible Gemini team.
Clarifying our intended audience: direct users are adult students and adult parents/guardians. Minors are subjects of enquiries, not intended direct users. The WhatsApp entry can still receive unknown senders, who receive deterministic handling only. Gemini access would require an operator’s actual in-person adult identity and exclusive sender-control check, a sender-bound grant lasting at most seven days, revocation, and checks before and after each request. Declared shared, minor, expired, revoked and unknown senders cannot use Gemini. No student details or histories enter Gemini.
Under the Age Requirements, may this restricted customer-facing feature constitute the relevant API client, or must the entire WhatsApp service have an adult-only access boundary? If the feature boundary is permitted, is the described assurance sufficient, including shared-account/re-verification controls; if not, which additional controls are required? Please identify applicable official guidance or obtain clarification from the responsible Gemini policy team. We seek interpretation, not an exemption.
