Following the instructions documented under Vertex AI in express mode overview | Generative AI on Vertex AI | Google Cloud I created a fresh @gmail.com account to test Vertex AI in express mode for an upcoming workshop on Gemini.
However it only shows option to add credit card and get 300 Credit instead of getting a key for free use for 90 days. How can I get the api key for 90 days?

Vertex AI in Express mode is not available for accounts that have previously signed up for the Google Cloud Free Trial, even if you’re using a @gmail.com address.
To get the free 90-day Express mode API key, make sure:
You’re using a completely new @gmail.com account
That account has never been used to access Google Cloud or activate the Free Trial
If the account has any Google Cloud history, it will prompt for credit card and show the $300 Free Trial option instead of Express mode.
