429 with paid tier 1

Hi, I have a paid project tier 1 and can’t really use it because of Error 429…
Whenever I make request I keep Proxy Error 429 despite being paid tier 1 for about a week now.

**PROXY ERROR 429: {“error”:{“message”:“Resource has been exhausted (e.g. check quota).”,“code”:429,“type”:“aistudio_error”}}
**
Attached is the screenshot of my request error dashboard with very low limit (maybe 30 request) but still getting the 429 error more than 50% of my request

Hi @Satria_Priambada,

This issue has been mitigated. Please reach out to us if you continue to experience it.

Thank you for your patience!

I am experiencing this exact same issue. i’m in paid tier 1 and am locked at 250 requests per day

How many RPMs? If it’s triggering a cooldown timer, then the timer is going to get refreshed with every subsequent request. Not saying it’s 100% the issue, but the way it looks on the graph, it’s peaking on one day. Or maybe you have a rate limit set for a certain allowance per day? Keep us posted.

Hello! I’m having a similar problem: I can’t use the service because of a 429 error that keeps popping up. I’m on Tier 1 and completely under the limits. I don’t understand which limit I’ve reached.
You’ve solved the problem in this thread; could you help me too?

it’s been few days in a row now that this is happeneing, works for half a day, then doesn’t work the other half of the day

Hi @UES_Cardiology, @user1925 and @Dzafer_Kulenovic,
Please let me know if you are still facing this issue?
Please provide the following details:

  • Complete Error Message: The full JSON response.

  • Billing Tier: (e.g., Free, paid etc.

  • Model Name & Region: (e.g., gemini-2.5-pro in europe-west1 etc).

  • Platform: (AI Studio, Vertex AI SDK, or REST ).

  • Task Description: Briefly, what are you using the API for? (e.g., "summarizing large PDFs"etc).

  • Provide the project number (not the project ID) via direct message

We are getting the same problem. 429 error but under limit in Tier 1 paid.

Maybe you can try to generate a new key - which forces the system to re-evaluate your Tier 1 status.
