429 RESOURCE_EXHAUSTED after successful ₹1000 Gemini API prepay payment (credits not applied)

Hello,

I believe there is a synchronization issue between Google Cloud Billing and Google AI Studio.

Billing Account ID:
01B3D4-086C73-DA67..

Project Name:
hermes agent

Project ID:
eminent-parsec-504307..

Timeline:
• Around 3:10 PM IST on Aug 3, 2026 I successfully paid ₹1000 via UPI.
• Google Cloud Billing shows the payment completed.
• The billing account is Paid Tier.
• Gemini API is enabled.
• The project is linked to the billing account.

However:
• Google AI Studio still shows Credit Balance ₹0.00
• AI Studio shows “No credits”
• No prepay transactions appear
• Every Gemini API request returns:

RESOURCE_EXHAUSTED
Your prepayment credits are depleted.

I have already submitted feedback through AI Studio.

Could someone please verify whether the payment has been applied to the Gemini API prepaid balance, or whether this is a billing synchronization issue?

Note: There is no manual billing sync process at our end.

It seems like you made the payment to your GCP billing account rather than the AIS prepaid (https://aistudio.google.com/billing). Please note that AIS requires you to prepay a minimum of 10$ (or equivalent in your currency) directly here: https://aistudio.google.com/billing.

Once you see a positive balance here (https://aistudio.google.com/billing), we will start consuming your GCP credits first before using the AIS prepaid balance.
