Hello Google Gemini API Team,

I am experiencing a persistent 403 PERMISSION_DENIED error when attempting to use the Gemini API with a newly created Google Cloud project for our business, Musubi Motor.

Project details:

  • Project name: Musubi Growth AI

  • Billing tier: Free Tier

  • API key: Created through Google AI Studio

  • Models tested: Gemini 3.8 Flash and Gemini 3.1 Flash-Lite

Error message:
403: Your project has been denied access. Please contact support.

Troubleshooting completed:

  1. Confirmed that the API key passes the connection validation test.

  2. Verified that the Google Account has two-step verification enabled.

  3. Checked age verification; Google confirmed that no further verification is required.

  4. Restarted our local API gateway and tested multiple Gemini models.

  5. Sent a direct API request to Google’s official generateContent endpoint using PowerShell, without any third-party tools.

  6. Received the same HTTP 403 error directly from Google.

This confirms that the issue is not limited to our local API gateway.

Could the Gemini API team please:

  • Review whether our Google Cloud project has an API access restriction?

  • Explain why the project is denied access?

  • Advise how we can restore access to the Gemini API Free Tier?

I can provide the Google Cloud project ID privately to an authorized support representative if needed.

It seems like your projects are flagged by automated account security checks. To unblock this error, you should consider upgrading to a paid plan. You could add prepayment credits directly in Google AI Studio and/ or by attaching an active billing account in the Google Cloud Console.
