Request for Manual Review – Gemini API 403 PERMISSION_DENIED – Project Denied Access

Hello,

I am requesting a review of Gemini API access for a newly created Google Cloud project.

Project name: The Damda Discovery
Project ID: gen-lang-client-07208493..

When calling the Gemini API GenerateContent method, the request returns:

403 PERMISSION_DENIED: Your project has been denied access. Please contact support.

I have verified the following:

  • Gemini API is enabled for the project.
  • The API key was created successfully in Google AI Studio.
  • Free-tier quota is available for the project.
  • The request reaches GenerativeService.GenerateContent in Google Cloud, but results in a 100% error rate.
  • 2-Step Verification is enabled on the Google account.
  • Phone verification is configured.
  • Google Account Security Checkup reports no recommended security actions.

This project belongs to our company Google Workspace organization (the-damda.co.kr) and is intended to be used for legitimate internal development and testing.

Could you please review why Gemini API access has been denied for this project and advise how the restriction can be resolved?

If completing standard security and identity verifications steps still does not restore access (or if using a model requiring a paid tier), you might want to consider adding prepayment credits directly in Google AI Studio and/ or attaching a Google Cloud Billing account in the Google Cloud Console. Please note this will mean you lose your free tier quota.
