Hello, i’ve been receiving this notification every time i try sending a new message in the google studio AI, i’m using the Gemini 3.0 model, it also says i should link a Paid API key to continue but i already have one paid API key linked in the chat. How do i fix this? I have no idea where to go or select to fix it. Is this a internal error from the system? Need help, i have a project working in that chat and i can’t stop it now.

Same issue here as well. It seems to be happening to a lot of people. I had to create a new project in Google Cloud Console and turn on its billing, but the same thing happened with that one as well. 100% a bug on googles side. Customer support has been lacking significantly. 4 days now without any resolution or contact.
There are changes coming next year that got leaked but the post got deleted but someone showed a screenshot of changes coming I think is going to be all API key only and they said something about merging AI subscriptions with AI studios hence all the recent errors. You can’t highlight multiple images now you could a week ago and personal videos spin forever where youtube goes thru just fine. In fact tokens for YT videos don’t balloon out of control since Gemini 3 came out where a 5 min video was easily over 100,00 tokens now is more like 10,000 tokens. They will make AI studios so unusable you’ll all beg to pay for what should’ve worked originally. Don’t pay and show them where it hurts and secure your own lives first whatever ways you need to do for your region. I’m doing that this year for mine. I had to make several mature choices that were hard at first.
Same thing still, this is a absurd for people who pay for their services , worst thing is, their support team is trash or not existent.
Days now with my project frozen and support whatsoever. It seems they are doing changes and it gets worse every time.
I’m gonna stop paying for their services in no time, and more and more people will do it if they keep doing things like that for their own benefits.
I’m actually very upset, my project of MONTHS being abruptly cut off like that , no excuses for them.
Does anyone know a similar platform?

same issue as well. I have been experiencing this issue for 1 week. I tried to create new project on google cloud and activate its billing account. but I am still experiencing it. is this error internal ?
Yes, I have the same problem, the limit is exceeded, although the API key is connected
Exactly the same problem here - This is too ridiculous for words. The chat is completely stuck (while I switched to Paid API Key) Got a project going on and I’m stuck. Anybody knows a solution or workaround?
There’s another thread describing a similar issue - which appears to come from the same root cause as what is observed here.
In our case, we’re not using the chat interface but the API directly via the google-genai Python SDK, running into rate limit errors very quickly.

I only got one free prompt today at this time of the post before getting that API Key limit. Would actually paying for an API key fix this or are people STILL having trouble? Is it the magic bullet?
This is likely what they want. They want people to be so frustrated they’ll just the ‘safe’ web interface and pay for a Pro subscription or better yet the 200$ a month subscription for Ultra like we all have 200$ of loose change under the couch or in the ole piggy bank! What is your ole piggy bank like when you shake the coins out? LOL. I wonder if any kids even use piggy banks anymore?

Free tier. Any model. When this happens only a new chat works. I am not sure what poisons the watering hole here. (Pulls the string)
I know what’s causing it! Videos! I think that’s why I was having so much. I stopped doing videos this evening and didn’t hit the rate limit till 9pm and the moment I did a video my chat got crashed till I removed the video.
