Please take this with a grain of salt, cause I’m not a 100% sure, but a friend of a friend has received agreements and tax form documents from the Google team to be signed and returned within 10 days
Anyone can speculate that they received an email to cause panic, even if they reached out, who said they would reach out to all the winners at once at the same time.
It seems to be true; someone mentioned in another post that they had won, but didn’t say it directly.
I can say that I won, and you would believe me as well, what’s the point? Don’t trust anything you hear with no proof.
What makes me think it’s true is that two people are saying the same thing, and today.
One person put emojis, and one person says a friend of a friend told him that lmao.
The one who used the emojis, I checked out his project, and it’s not bad, to be honest.
Guys will wait for the official announcement
Just a friendly reminder: If you’re thinking of announcing that you or someone else has won the competition before Google officially does, please don’t.
According to the rules, premature announcement could be considered unsportsmanlike or disruptive to the competition’s integrity, both of which could lead to disqualification. Google also reserves the right to manage publicity around the winners, and early declarations may undermine the legitimate operation of the contest.
Just to stay safe, please wait for Google’s official announcements before claiming winners. Thanks.
If you speculate, you can be kicked out of the competition according to the rules. You cannot discuss these kind of things. Secondly, It is Google not a small IT company in your hometown. They will announce officially and send emails at once. They said, late 2024 therefore you need to wait. It takes a lot of time to review a code. I reviewed the codes of many projects in my career. It is easier to write a new code rather than to evaluate a code.
Exactly I agree with you please don’t make others panic will wait for official
This could be true for Google as we run many competitions, but it is not true for the Gemini API Developer competition. We are almost done distilling the 3.1k valid submissions.
That’s great to hear. can imagine this is still a lot to go through.
Hi @Lloyd_Hightower !
Could we have a more specific deadline for the announcement of the results? “Late 2024” is a wide window
Like many others I think, I open the competition page every day, it’s too much suspense
Thank you again for your work,
Have a nice day,
Mario
Im going to guess that they don’t have any dates yet. They underestimated the amount of projects and at the moment they are probably just pushing forward. Until all is ready for the judges to judge, I dont think we are going to get anything more specific than “Late 2024”
PS: I also check the site everyday
Breaking news from 2030: Google, with its army of thousands upon thousands of employees, is still distilling the 3.1k submissions
