Hi,
Will the judge let us know when they review our app, or at least when they are entering the reviewing phase ? ( a period of a few days )
Some of my user went a little bit overboard with the TTS capacities and I invalidated the API KEY for now ( 6hours of TTS audio generated in 48 hours ).
But i’d still like for the judge to get all the feature working, hence my question.
As far as I can tell from reading the rules and forums often, we will NOT be notified when the judging starts. Right now, Judges are busy flagging projects/submissions as disqualified for not following the rules (video doesn’t work, under 18 years old etc).
For competitions like these, judges don’t typically test every single app.
- They will simply watch the videos and judge whether they qualify for any of the categories or not.
- Then they will further filter the list by scoring each one of the projects based on 5 criteria: Remarkability, Creativity, Usefulness, Impactfulness, and Execution.
- Most of these judgments are made based on the videos and a quick skim of the code (to ensure Gemini was used). The apps will likely be tested if and ONLY if the project scores highly on any of the categories. If the judges are nice, they’ll ask the developer via email that they can’t test the app for some reason at this stage.
- Then they’ll pick 2 or 3 winners for each of the award categories (for e.g. Best Flutter App or Most Impactful App etc) and notify the first-choice winners for each award.
- If for any reason, the winner cannot accept the award, the 2nd or 3rd choices for the award are notified. Remember those award winners are given 3 days to accept the award and comply with whatever Google asks for, otherwise, the 2nd or 3rd choices will be selected and notified for those award categories.
We won’t know anything until we are notified individually whether we have been chosen as a winner for an award category.
